If you have sensitive teeth and/or gums, you should be mindful about what you drink. Here at Costa Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we have many patients with tooth and gum sensitivity that wonder what juices or drinks are safe for them to enjoy. Here are our recommendations:

Water

Water is the ideal drink if you have sensitive teeth or gums. It can clean your teeth with every sip and get rid of any leftover foods or acids in your mouth. Water can also remove bacteria and sugars that may cause cavities down the road. In addition, water is free of calories and can fight any unhealthy levels of acid in your mouth.

Milk

Since it is rich in calcium, milk can strengthen your bones and teeth. It is also full of casein, a protein that can strengthen tooth enamel and help you fight tooth decay. Whole, skim, 2 percent, and almond milk are all safe.

Sugar Free or Low Sugar Veggie Juice

Veggies are loaded with vitamins and minerals and great for your oral health. However, they are only healthy when they contain limited amounts of sugar. When you are purchasing or making vegetable juice, it should have a low percentage of sugary fruits.
