What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells. They are made from porcelain selected to match the natural shade of your teeth and are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth to give you a beautiful, long-lasting result for your smile.
What can veneers do for my smile?
Veneers correct the imperfections in your teeth, such as:
- Gaps and spaces between the teeth
- Stained, discolored or yellowed teeth
- Slightly crooked teeth
- Teeth that are misshapen, too long or too short
- Teeth that are fractured, chipped or worn down
How long will my treatment take?
Dental veneers typically require two appointments. During the first appointment, your teeth will be prepared and impressions will be taken. We will also choose the shade of white for your veneers. At the second appointment, your veneers will be bonded into place to give you a beautiful smile.
How long do veneers last?
On average, veneers last around five to 10 years. However, some veneers have been known to last for up to 20 years. You can extend the life of your veneer by practicing good oral hygiene at home and visiting the dentist regularly.
What is the best way to care for my smile after receiving veneers?
Continue to maintain good oral hygiene, flossing daily and brushing at least twice a day, and continue visiting our dentists twice a year for routine preventive treatments. We also recommend that you avoid eating hard foods, such as nuts or chips, or chewing on ice, as these activities can damage your veneers.
